Artist Statement
Working with wood is very therapeutic and rewarding, the individuality of each piece makes it exciting and challenging with every new project a new adventure.  I find the vast array of wood that mother nature has provided with all it’s different hues and grain patterns a privilege to work with and am always amazed when I see a particular uniqueness emerging from within the wood.  I enjoy making a variety of fine pieces from functional outdoor benches used for chatting with friends to beautiful wall art for bringing a sense of warmth to a room and from exotic end grain cutting boards for your gourmet kitchen to fun candy dispensers that add whimsy to your family room.  My background in artistic gardens and courtyards helps to nurture my  imagination and the desire to share natures beauty and true craftsmanship with others makes the time spent on each project truely worth while.

About Artist Dennis Steckler
Dennis is an artisan who has used his gift many different ways but always with his hands on mother earth.  For many years he lived in the Portland Oregon area and designed artistic gardens, courtyards and water features for indoor or out that harmonized with the valley and often times included wooden benches, tables and anything special a home or garden called out for.  In 2000 he and his wife relocated to Central Oregon for a new adventure.  Coordinating elements of the unique high desert into his artistic gardens and water features brought new excitement and new expressions to his craft and with the long Central Oregon winters brought more time to spend in his wood shop transforming natures beautiful gifts of wood into finely finished, functional and artistic pieces to share with the world.  Dennis is dedicated to quality and excellence and believes when the beauty of wood meets the gift of creativity the possibilities are endless.
