Artist Statement
Each piece of jewelry is a handcrafted, one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art created by us. Our work is a continual evolution of style, technique and design. We use only natural stones, pearls, art glass, etc. Our preferred metal of choice is copper; however, we occasionally get the urge or inspiration to incorporate silver, brass or bronze into our pieces. Our jewelry is designed with the inspiration to enhance every woman’s beauty and uniqueness.

About the Artists
Long Walk Saturday Designs evolved from two sisters, Cherie Long and Sheila Walker, getting together on Saturdays to create one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces for our family and friends. As interest and appreciation for our jewelry designs grew, we began expanding our outlets to make our jewelry available to all those who truly appreciate and value unique, creative, wearable art.

We were blessed to have been influenced and mentored by our mother who was such a superb seamstress and artist. From an early age, we were both surrounded by her passion for creating beauty from whatever scraps and findings she might come across. Her creativeness was a gift to us that continues to inspire us. We both possess her passion and talent for designing and creating one of a kind, beautiful pieces. Although she is no longer with us, she inspires us daily.

Cherie currently is an assisted living facility administrator. With such a stressful job she finds creating jewelry gives her peace from the hectic daily grind and rewards her with the beauty she creates. How relaxing it is to proudly sit back and enjoy what one has created.

Sheila is a retired school administrator who spends her spare time hiking, biking, kayaking and creating one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces. What a wonderful way to retire! Her BA is in Home Economics with an emphasis on Interior Design and Textile Arts.

Cherie and Sheila both live in beautiful Bend, OR.
