Bill Koger Artist Statement
I have been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember, and began entering and winning competitions in my early teens.

I draw on a wide range of subject matter for my work, but almost always find myself painting scenes that evoke a sense of nostalgia or scenery that has generated an emotion within me.

When I paint I hope to create something that will either stir a memory or bring out feelings in the viewer. Of course, I must be personally satisfied with what I have produced but I am only truly happy if someone else is moved by the work in some way.

Although comfortable in various media such as oils, pastel, and pen & ink I always come back to my first love of watercolor.

I was offered art scholarships to two colleges and settled on Boise State University where I earned a degree in Art. After graduating I have continued to show my work at galleries and competitions throughout the west.
