Gordon, Nancy Clow

Artist Statement
Nancy Clow Gordon I became enchanted with petroglyphs while vacationing in Arizona .  Since the only way to own one was to produce them myself I embarked on stone etching. My husband Bob and I journey to the mountains and harvest the stones by hand from the local quarries and scavenge the local contractors’ scrap bins.  Each piece is hand etched using hand tools to create a variety of designs from petroglyphs, pet memorial markers, infant foot prints, animal designs or just about anything that “speaks to me” or my clients. I use slate, river rock, travertine, granite, and flag stone to create my art. My husband and I live on a mini-ranch in beautiful Tumalo with three horses and two cats.
