Artist Statement
As 5-year residents of Central Oregon we have developed a keen appreciation for our unique area. Dennis’s recent acrylics reflect the change of seasons and diversity of wildlife. As experimenters in new styles and techniques we are partnering Dennis’s art and Kristina’s quilting to create a series of wall hangings combining paintings printed on fabric with quilted, richly colored frames that enhance the quality of the art with embroidered titles.

About Dennis and Kristina Evans

Dennis M. Evans; artist, designer
I have never wanted to be anything but an artist. While attending Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA., I learned the importance of observation in drawing and painting. Art Center taught me how to create in a variety of disciplines from drawing in graphite or pen and ink to painting in watercolor, oils, gouache, tempera, and acrylic. In 1981, I started my own design and fine art studio. While design for advertising and promotion is an important part of the business, I am excited to continue my painting in this area rich in history and environment.

Kristina Evans; colorist, embroiderer
I learned to sew as a young girl from my mother and have always loved coordinating colors, fabrics, and textures. I developed this ability into a profession as a colorist, clothing buyer, and fashion consultant. Recently, I have returned to quilting and embroidery using the new technologies now available. Combining Dennis’s art with fabrics is very rewarding.
