Eberly, Danielle

Artist Statement
My pieces reflect the colors and shapes around me. I draw from people’s personalities and my own. From the beginning I wanted to venture away from mainstream designs and mass productions. Instantly I knew I had a passion to be unique by creating unique looks with organic/natural materials. I specifically look for uniqueness in each bead. I love color, which is reflected through out my earrings, even in some of  the pieces with natural stones and semi-precious gemstones. I have started to turn away from glass and am using natural stones, pearls, and Swarovski crystals (for a more elegant earring).

About Artist Danielle Eberly
Born and raised in Oregon, I have always liked color. In elementary school I loved art, and it continued through high school. I fell in love with drawing and thought that’s where I was headed when I was in college. However, I soon found that I got discouraged  after putting hours of effort into a drawing and lost that passion to continue. Towards the end of my college years, it was my sister who introduced me to the idea of making earrings. Her and I were crafty when it came to gifts. We began to appreciate the value of a handmade gift. So when she gave me the first pair of handmade earrings, I tried my hand in creating some. I quickly discovered I wasn’t too bad at it and I didn’t mind if something didn’t turn out because I could always try it again without spending too long on it. After I graduated, I spent a year in Virginia where I spent endless hours on my bedroom floor designing and creating one-of-a-kind earrings for the people around me. This is whe
re several of my friends urged me to think about selling them. When I moved back to Oregon and out to Bend, I met a friend who introduced me to the natural side of beading; instead of the glass and crystal beads, I ventured out using natural stones and semi-precious gemstones. After all, we are in Central Oregon where everything around us is beautiful nature; what better inspiration could I ask for? I am a self taught earring designer, continuously learning more and more about earrings through various wire/beading/crafting books.
