Artist Statement
My ongoing passion for the fascinating medium of glass has continued over the past three decades; from the seventies glass blowing hot shop at Portland State University, then in the eighties Aden & Hanes stained glass studio in Multnomah Village, Portland Oregon, to the current jadenglassworks studio featuring kiln-worked glass.

The ability to change the state of this wonderful material from a solid to a liquid and once again back to a solid, not only has unlimited possibilities but continues to push my creative energy. Mastering this material requires understanding it more than controlling it.

The majority of my design concentration features views from a distance. The patterns seen in my work are memories of the farm fields as seen from the window seat of an airplane at 25,000 feet before landing in Omaha Nebraska, my home state. As much as I enjoy the use of color, most of my work is from a limited pallet for each piece.
