Barbara & Gordon Broussard Artist Statement
As you can see from my masks I’m influenced by the Native American culture. My masks have been designed to reflect a southwestern motif, not to be mistaken as Native American art. My other works are still evolving from day to day. With clay you can never run out of ideas.

About Gordon Broussard
I’ve been interested in working with clay since my high school days. It was not until 1995 that I thought of pursuing clay as a way of expressing my artistic ideas and interest.

I attended the Tucson Museum of Art school for three years under the direction of John McNulty. I learned a lot from his beliefs and teachings. I also attended ceramic classes through the Pima Community College also in Tucson Arizona under the direction of Tim Ballingham.

I have no fancy degrees or diplomas, just a love for the versatility of clay and the power of one’s own imagination.
