Basketry, also basket weaving or basket making, is considered both an art and a craft. It is the process of weaving unspun vegetable fibers into a basket or other similar form. Baskets are made from just about anything that will bend and form a shape. More common examples include reed grass, pine straw, animal hair, cowhide, thread, and wood (willow, oak, ash, and hickory).
